How to start a loan and collect an application

Jupiter offers several flexible ways to start a loan and collect a borrower’s application. You can create a loan on behalf of your borrower, import an existing file, copy an existing loan, or allow borrowers to start applications themselves using secure application links.

How to create a new loan for a borrower from the dashboard

You can manually start a loan and invite your borrower to complete the application.

1. From the Dashboard, click on "Create a loan"

2. Select the Loan Officer and add a teammate if needed, then click Continue.

3. Choose Create New Borrower.

4. Click on "Continue"

5. Enter the borrower’s basic information.

6. Check the box to include their phone number and invite them to the application. This ensures the borrower receives an invitation immediately.

7. Add a custom message if desired and click on "Continue".

8. Select a "Goal" and click on "Continue"

The borrower will receive an invitation to create their account and complete the application.


How to start a loan from the loan table

This option is helpful when you’re already working within the loan table.

1. From the loan screen, click "+ New loan" button.

2. Select the Loan Officer and add a teammate if needed, then click "Continue".

3. Choose "Create new borrower".

4. Click on "Continue".

5. Enter the borrower’s basic information.

6. Check the box to include their phone number and invite them to the application. This ensures the borrower receives an invitation immediately.

7. Add a custom message if desired and click on "Continue".

8. Select a "Goal" and click on "Continue"

The borrower will receive an invitation to create their account and complete the application.


How to import a MISMO 3.4 file

If you already have an application file from another system, you can import it into Jupiter.

1. From the Dashboard, select "Import loan".

2. Drag and drop your MISMO 3.4 XML file into the upload area

Note: You can upload up to 50 files at once.

3. Click on "Import files" to complete the process and the loan will be created automatically in your Jupiter account.

You can also import from the "Loan" screen should you wish.

How to copy an existing loan application

If a borrower is completing another purchase or refinance, you can copy an existing loan on Jupiter instead of starting from scratch.

1. Open the existing loan.

2. Go to the "Overview" tab.

3. Click on "Copy loan".

4. Confirm the primary borrower (required).

5. Choose whether to add additional borrowers, move the subject property to the borrower’s current address, move the subject property to properties owned and select what other information you wish to copy into the new loan.

5. Select the new loan goal (Purchase or Refinance).

6. Click on "Create copied loan".

A brand-new loan will be created and visible on your main loan page.


How to use the secure online application link

Jupiter also allows borrowers to start applications on their own using secure links.. The personal application link is deal for use in your email signature, website, or an "Apply Now" button on your website.

Note: Applications started with your personal link are always assigned to you automatically on Jupiter
