After inviting borrowers to a loan in Jupiter, you can request documents in two ways:
Automatically, using Smart Docs rules based on the application stage. The client will complete, submit the loan application and be presented with the document list .
Manually, when you complete an application manually you can send a document update from Jupiter so the document can then be uploaded via the portal.
This article focuses on how to manually request documents and what both you and your borrower will see throughout the process.

How to Manually Request Documents
You can manually request documents from one or more borrowers directly from the loan.
1. Open the loan and select the "Documents" tab
2. Click "New Request"
3. Choose the documents you want to request from the list. If needed, you can create a custom document from your team settings if you are a team administrator.
4. Select which borrower(s) the documents should be requested from
5. Click "Create Request".

An email will be sent to your borrower requesting those documents.
Note: You can see which documents have been requested from each borrower in the "Documents" section under each borrowers name.
How to message a borrower.
1. Click "Borrower tools" in the top navigation bar
2. Select "Send message.
3. Select which borrower(s) you want to notify and type your message
4. Click on "Send update"

Note: You can review your communications history using the "Borrower tools" as well. All messages sent to your borrowers will be displayed in the history.
How to set due dates and reminders
You can also set a due date and reminders to help ensure borrowers respond to document requests on time.
1. Navigate to "Documents" when in a loan.
2. Click on "Set due date and reminders"
3. Select the due date
4. If you'd like automatic reminders sent out, choose the frequency and click on "Save changes.

What the Borrower Sees
When a document has been requested the borrower receives an email notification letting them know documents are required.

After logging into their borrower portal, they can click "Go to Documents"to view and upload any outstanding requests

Note: If there are multiple borrowers invited to the loan, the document requests are in separate tabs for each borrower. A borrower simply has to click on their name to view which docs have been requested from them.
What the broker sees when a borrower uploads documents:
1. You’ll receive an email notification letting you know documents are ready for review
2. Inside the loan, documents are automatically organized into the following sections for each borrower:
For Your Review
Loan Officer Accepted
Needs Attention
Approved
This makes it easy to identify which documents are complete and which still require follow-up.

How to download accepted documents
Once documents are marked as 'Accepted", you can download them in multiple ways:
1. Download all approved documents as a merged PDF or ZIP file; or

2. Download individual documents by selecting "Download" from the "Actions" drop-down menu.

How to review the activity in a document request
1. Click on "Documents" when in the loan
2. Select a document request you wish to review from a borrower.
3. Select "Activity" .

How to archive a document request
1. Click on "Documents" when in the loan
2. Select a document request you wish to archive
3. Click on "Archive request" .

How to delete a document request
1. Click on "Documents" when in the loan.
2. Select a document request you wish to delete.
3. Click on "Delete request" and choose yes when prompted.
