Use smart documents to request documents automatically

Finmo's smart documents system will suggest document requests based on the information in the borrower's application. You can choose to accept suggestions by clicking "Create request" or ignore them to request documents manually.


How to set up smart docs in less than 30 seconds

1. Click the “Settings” gear icon to access your team settings in the left menu.

2. Select “Smart docs from the left sub-menu.

3. Select “Yes” if you'd like to automatically request suggested documents after a borrower completes their application.

4. Click on "Save settings".

That's it! Now your borrowers will automatically receive document requests based on the information they enter in their application.


What will the borrower see when they submit an application and automatic requests are turned on?

1. Immediately after a borrower submits their application, they will be redirected to the home page in the portal.

2. Click “Go to documents” to see the list of requested documents

3. Start uploading your documents

Note: Any borrower on the loan can upload documents for all borrowers on the application. Once uploaded, they cannot be viewed by borrowers.

Borrowers will also receive an email confirming the submission of their application, and a button with a link to review their application portal to start uploading documents.


How to use smart suggestions in document requests

1. Open the existing loan in Finmo.

2. Go to the “Documents” tab.

3. You will see “Smart suggestions” for document requests under each borrower.

4. Click “Create request” to use the selected smart suggestions to create document requests, or you can click “Clear all” if you don’t want to use it.

Note: If you don't see any smart suggestions, it's because no rules have been triggered from the application.

5. After you've created the document requests, click “Update borrower(s)” in the top navigation bar to send a message about the new document requests.


How to customize the smart docs as a team admin

1. Click the “Settings” gear icon to access your team settings in the left menu.

2. Select “Smart docs from the left sub-menu.

3. Click the “Which document(s)?” dropdown menus to edit which documents will appear for each trigger.

Note: The left side of the page has the "triggers" that are used to generate smart suggestions from the information in the borrower's application. The right side has the document that's suggested from the trigger.


How to "turn off" smart docs

1. Click the “Settings” gear icon to access your team settings in the left menu.

2. Select “Smart docs from the left sub-menu.

3. Select “No” if you'd like to turn off smart document suggestions.

4. Click on "Save settings".
