Jupiter lets you control who has editing access to an application. This was built so a borrower can't change details after you've reviewed the loan, and so two people aren't able to edit the application at the same time.
How does editing access work?
When you create a loan in Jupiter, the default status is "no access" for the borrower. This means your team has control over the application.
When you click to "Invite" a borrower, the status changes to "Full access" giving the borrower control. When the borrower creates their account, they're able to start filling out the application. You also have the ability to edit the application when the borrower has control.
When you only want the borrower to upload documents and they cannot edit other parts of their application, the status changes to “Limited - documents only”
When the borrower submits the application, the status changes to "No access". The loan officer now has full control over the application for review. You can also review the status of the borrower, whether they are active or have not yet accepted their invitation.

What if the application needs extra work, or you need to give the control back to the borrower for some reason?
1. Click on "Borrower tools" at the top of the screen and select the "Portal access" tab. Change the access to "Full access".

2. After manually updating the edit access to an application, click on "Borrower tools" at the top of the screen and select the "Send message" tab. Type a message to the borrower and click on "Send update" to let them know that they have access back to edit their application and what they need to update.
When you send the update the email will have your message plus a link to log back into their portal. See the example below.

Can I review the history of the messages I have sent to the borrower.
Yes! Simply click on "Borrower tools" on the top right and in the "Send message" tab click on "View communication history".

Your previous messages to borrowers will be displayed with a timestamp.
